About

Farmers Market Shop began with a single lemon tree, a personal desire to feed our children better, and a passion to educate them about where their food came from. What started as a small family project soon grew into something much larger. Inspired by the Farmer-to-Consumer Direct Marketing Act of 1976, we realized we could do more than just grow our own food—we could create a space where others could reconnect with the land and the people who make their food possible.

Our first farmers market was a humble affair, held in a gated community, but it sparked something profound. We saw families, neighbors, and children gathering, connecting over farm-fresh produce, and learning about sustainability. From there, we knew we had the foundation for something that could truly make a difference, and it does! We are possibly the largest, most trusted farmers market organization in Southern California.

Today, Farmers Market Shop is not just an online marketplace; it’s a movement. We’ve grown into a community of farmers, artisans, and consumers who all share the same vision: a world where local farmers thrive, artisans find their audience, and every family has access to fresh, sustainably sourced food.

In our 30 years organizing neighborhood farmers markets we’ve also helped build school gardens, watched children discover the magic of growing their own vegetables, and empowered countless farmers and artisans to expand their businesses. Each purchase made through Farmers Market Shop is an investment in the community and a step toward a healthier, more connected world.

Our story isn’t just about selling produce—it’s about creating a platform where communities can thrive. It’s about educating the next generation and empowering local businesses. And it’s about celebrating the hard work, passion, and dedication that goes into every item we offer. This is our story, and we’re inviting you to be a part of it.
